Who runs NERDSHOCK HQ ?
That would be me! My name is Aleida and I’m a Gamer, Geek & Digital Hermit from The Netherlands. I live together with my partner and our cat in one of the quiet northern provinces.
I love celebrating awesome movies, binge-worthy shows, delicious tunes & epic videogames. I’ve been running various websites for over 20 years. Starting with an online diary to a personal blog to a full fledged lifestyle website. I originally launched NERDSHOCK HQ at the start of 2013.
I’m currently rebuilding my life while dealing with a chronic disease. Working on NERDSHOCK HQ helps me continue to stick to a routine while having the pleasure of being able to geek out at the same time.
Why do you consider NERDSHOCK HQ to be an independent website ?
All costs related to running NERDSHOCK HQ are paid out of pocket by Aleida, the owner. The website is not part of a blogging network or owned by a publishing company. Without the pressure of monetizing or an overlord, I’m free to express my opinion at HQ and not be influenced by a third party.
Can you advertise my product or service on NERDSHOCK HQ ?
No, not at this time. I would like to keep NERDSHOCK HQ free from advertising. It is possible that embedded YouTube video’s are interrupted by an ad, but I do not receive any funds from showcasing these ads.
Do you need help running NERDSHOCK HQ ?
