Now that I’ve returned to rebuild NERDSHOCK HQ, I also had to bring back my Journey Through Tyria blogpost series. In this series I go on an adventure in Guild Wars 2 and take you along with me.
Even though Guild Wars 2 came out over a decade ago, it’s still going strong and definitely worth playing in 2024. I love that the game is pretty casual friendly, has no subscription fee and has an epic setting to get lost in 🌳🍃
Not familiar with MMORPG’s, but always wanted to try one? No worries, I got you! I believe Guild Wars 2 is the perfect game to start your MMORPG journey with. Since I mainly play Guild Wars 2 as a stress relief game, I will keep it casual & chill during our travels. That way you’ll never have to worry if you can keep up. Promised.
How can I play Guild Wars 2?
The original Guild Wars 2 game including Living World Season 1 is actually free-to-play! That not only means you can try out the game for free, but you will also be able to experience a whole lotta story content without spending extra money. If you find yourself enjoying the game a lot, you can continue to explore: 5 Expansions, 4 additional Living World Seasons, and some pretty nifty features such as mounts and your very own homestead.
You can play Guild Wars 2 on your PC by creating an account and downloading the installer from the official website or download and install the game via Steam (?). If you don’t have a computer that is able to run the game, you can also play with the help of GeForce NOW.

Dwayna, the goddess of healing, blessed Basil when he was young. Though trouble may follow him, he overcomes it with dignity. Basil is a street rat, he’s been struggling all his life. He’s made something of himself, but the only thing he regrets is that he never recovered his sister’s dead body. Basil is a guardian. He wears the armor and has the aspirations of a conqueror.
