I thought about doing a wrap up for 2024, but I’ve been mainly tinkering behind the scenes of NERDSHOCK HQ ⚡ I hope everyone has been able to enjoy the holidays with their loved ones, had time to rest up & celebrate the start of the New Year!
I relaunched NERDSHOCK HQ back in September last year. I’ve been mainly focusing on sharing the adventures of Basil The Wanderer in Guild Wars 2. Next to sharing my Journey Through Tyria, I also shared a couple of mini reviews of TV shows I enjoyed watching. Even though I used to enjoy writing in-depth reviews previously, I noticed it didn’t spark as much joy as it used to.
I started to doubt if bringing back HQ was me simply being nostalgic. For a short time I even reverted HQ back to a static landing page. After taking the time to reflect during the holidays, I’ve decided to remove the mini reviews and niche down NERDSHOCK HQ. I’ll be focusing more on celebrating my favorite games. That means I will continue to share my adventures in Guild Wars 2. I also hope to share other favorite titles later in 2025.
I thoroughly enjoy sharing my Guild Wars 2 adventures. I’ve been uploading fresh video’s to YouTube every week since the relaunch. Because I deleted all my old video’s, I lost a bunch of perks on my YouTube channel. I thought it would take months to build up my account history again, but I actually managed to get access to advanced features back within two weeks. I never expected I could revive a channel that has been on hiatus for so long.
I’m not yet eligible to monetize the NERDSHOCK YouTube channel. To be honest, it’s not something I’m currently striving for. The main focus for my channel this year is to wrap up the whole Elder Dragon Saga of Guild Wars 2, showcase some of my favorite collectibles and upload other geek out video’s. You could say my main goal for 2025 is to keep a steady stream of updates going and enjoy the proces. Haha!
